My kids love the idea of going on a picnic, so we pack up what seems like half of our refrigerator a few times a week and head out to one of our favorite Forest Lake area picnic spots.
We’re lucky, in the Forest Lake area, to have so many great picnic spots to choose from! Here’s my family’s list of top three picnic spots in Forest Lake:
Location: Lakeside Park - Forest Lake
Features: Who wouldn't like to picnic overlooking beautiful Forest Lake! We can usually find a spot under one of the shaded picnic tables or bring a blanket and sit out on the grass.
Location: Lions Park - Wyoming
Features: Lions park has a fantastic shaded picnic table area that overlooks the park. It's a great picnic spot with friends. Bonus - the park is fenced in so mom might get a couple bites in too without having to chase little ones down! This is a hidden gem pick.
Location: Beach Park - Lindstrom
Features: This is another pick with a great view. Take in views of the lake and spend some time on the playground. My oldest son also loves watching people catch fish off the dock.
Location: Coon Lake County Park and Beach - Columbus
Features: Are you noticing a theme here? We love a good picnic by the water - we do live in MN after all! The views here are spectacular, there's a cute playground and the bathrooms are really nice and clean. There are some picnic tables but we bring a blanket and park ourselves in the shade.
